As we approach the close of another year filled with uncertainty, opportunity, and rapid change, I find myself reflecting on one simple truth: the edge that matters most isn’t external — it’s internal.

It’s the clarity to make bold decisions.
The courage to adapt when the path shifts.
And the energy to keep leading with purpose, even when the world feels unpredictable.

That’s what inspired me to create the Gain Your Edge Series, a weekly leadership reflection designed to help you pause, realign, and elevate your leadership before the year ends.

What You Can Expect

Over the next eight weeks, I’ll share brief, actionable insights drawn from my 30+ years of global leadership, from the oilfields of Africa to the global boardrooms, and from my current work coaching executives and boards navigating transformation, energy transition, and AI-enabled change.

Each week, we’ll explore one “edge” that defines exceptional leadership in today’s world, from awareness and purpose, to adaptability, transformation, and renewal.

These are not theories.
They’re field-tested lessons from leaders I’ve coached, advised, and walked alongside through reinvention.

What I’ve learned is this: transformation always travels through people first.

Technology follows leadership.
And leadership follows awareness.

My mission is to help leaders harness that awareness; to connect head and heart, vision and execution, purpose and performance.
